TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan — The Cagayan Provincial Learning and Resource Center (CPLRC) has celebrated its 72nd founding anniversary yesterday by paying tribute to the stakeholders and partners who have sustained its mission over the decades. Among the prominent honorees was the Cagayan Museum and Historical Research Center, cited for its essential partnership in preserving local heritage and promoting culture alongside the provincial library. The celebration was entitled โPanagyamanโ (the Ilocano word for โThanksgivingโ), in gratitude of the contributions of various government agencies, local government units, private organizations, and academic institutions. Cagayan Governor Edgar B. Aglipay led the ceremony alongside Provincial Librarian and CPLRC Head Michael Pinto. In his address, Pinto emphasized that the institutionโs milestones are a collective achievement. Governor Aglipay echoed this sentiment, noting that the CPLRCโs 72-year legacy is a testament to the collaboration between the provincial government and the community. He specifically highlighted the role of the library and its partner institutions in molding the minds of the youth. The Governor also honored the legacy of Vice Governor Manuel Mamba, who, during his tenure as Governor, initiated the modernization of the CPLRC to expand its service capacity. โCPLRC has shaped generations of Cagayanos in their education. More than a building, it is a foundation of opportunities, and opportunities open up to progress. A province that learns together indeed progresses. Partnership sustains our growth in Cagayan,โ the governor remarked. As the province looks toward the future, the Governor also called for a renewed commitment to educational accessibility and innovation. (DESL/with reports from Mia Bquiran/photos from CPIO)
